Vulvar Pain
Pain in the vulva is a common and often distressing symptom for people with vulvar lichen sclerosus (VLS), particularly in moderate to severe cases. This pain can result from small cracks in the skin (fissures), open sores (ulcerations), or inflammation caused by the condition itself (Günthert et al., 2012).

The severity of pain varies widely—some may experience a mild ache, while others endure intense discomfort that affects their ability to perform everyday activities like walking, sitting, or using the restroom. For many, this pain significantly disrupts their quality of life, making it difficult to engage in social activities or maintain normal routines.
